Tengchong Museum is located behind Tengchong Sanqiao Cultural Square, next to Tengchong Tengchong Library and Tengchong Group Arts Museum. The total exhibition area is 2,207 square meters. It is composed of 5 exhibition halls, including Preface Hall, History Hall, Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall, Calligraphy and Painting Hall, and Temporary Exhibition Hall. More than 760 pieces (sets) of cultural relics (artifacts) and more than 310 pictures are on display. The museum is worth seeing the historical exhibition hall and the intangible cultural relics exhibition hall.
The history exhibition hall re-introduces the development of Tengchong City more completely. There is also a relatively exciting display about the ancient caravan roads in modern Tengchong and the emerald trade. The physical objects and pictures are combined to fully display the prosperous economic scene of Tengchong in modern times, and the scene of people in Tengchong traveling to barbarians is reviewed. The intangible cultural heritage mainly talks about the pottery making technology of Tengchong bowl kiln, the handmade papermaking technology of Jietou in Tengchong, the traditional jadeite processing in Tengchong, and the Tengchong paper horse.
Tengchong Museum is the carrier of the inheritance of regional history and national culture, and it is also a window for friends at home and abroad to understand the history and culture of Tengchong.
