The Tianjin Museum has five floors. The first to third floors each have a theme exhibition hall, and the fifth floor is a collective exhibition hall with several special exhibitions. Displaying the history and culture of Tianjin, there is an exhibition hall of "Origin of Tianjin Humanities" on the first floor, a hall of "Looking at Tianjin in a Century" on the third floor, a special exhibition of "Tianjin Folk Art Exhibition" on the fifth floor, and a "Exhibition of Selected Collections" on the second floor. There are more than 200,000 exhibits in the exhibition hall, the special exhibition of "Tianjin Collectors Donated Cultural Relics Exhibition" on the fifth floor, and several special exhibitions of porcelain, calligraphy and painting, and jade, which are very rich. In addition to these permanent exhibitions, some temporary exhibitions are often held in the museum, and you can visit them if you happen to meet them.

It is very convenient to listen to the explanation of cultural relics in the museum. If you want to study in depth, you can also ask for a lecturer. You need to make an appointment by phone three days in advance for the explanation. The appointment phone number is 022-83883000. It takes about 2-3 hours to simply visit the entire museum, and half a day or even longer to get an in-depth understanding.

The "Origin of Tianjin Humanities" exhibition hall is located on the right side of the hall on the first floor, summarizing the tens of thousands of years of Tianjin's history from the Paleolithic Age to the middle and late Qing Dynasty. Through the cultural relics unearthed in Tianjin, such as pottery, bronzes, and ironware, and pictures and text descriptions, it shows the development process of Tianjin from a barren land to a canal city to a regional hub. It is a place to understand the ancient history of Tianjin.

The "Exhibition of Collection of Cultural Relics" exhibition hall is located on the second floor. It is the key exhibition in the museum. Bottles and other cultural relics are especially important to visit.

The "Tianjin in China's Century" exhibition hall is located on the third floor, showing the history of Tianjin in the past century from 1804 to the founding of the People's Republic of China. Because Tianjin was once an industrial and commercial city in the north and also a window city for China to the outside world, there is a saying that "China has seen Tianjin for a century". In the exhibition hall, there are simulated Tianjin streets, and it is very interesting to walk among the "streets". There are also displays of "Western goods" such as Coca-Cola billboards and pistols in Tianjin, which can be visited and understood.

Several other thematic exhibitions are located in the exhibition hall on the fifth floor, including Tianjin Collectors Donated Cultural Relics Exhibition, Tianjin Folk Art Exhibition, Ancient Chinese Jade Exhibition, Yangzhou Painting School Boutique Exhibition, Ming and Qing Blue and White Porcelain Exhibition, Shanghai School Painting Exhibition, etc. Calligraphy and painting, jade and porcelain are abundant, among which "Snow Scenery and Cold Forest Picture" is one of the treasures of the town hall, which must not be missed.
