Tianshan Mysterious Grand Canyon, also known as Keziliya Grand Canyon, is located in the north of Kuqa County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang. Kyzylya means "red cliff" in Uighur language, because the Grand Canyon is composed of reddish-brown giant mountain groups. The reddish-brown mountains of Tianshan Mysterious Grand Canyon go straight into the sky, like clusters of burning flames under the sunlight.
Entering the valley and walking among the reddish-brown mountains seems to have entered a quiet and cool world. The mouth of the canyon is very wide, but when it goes deep into the valley, there are twists and turns, sometimes wide and sometimes narrow, and in some places only one person can pass sideways. The bottom of the valley is relatively flat, and you can take a leisurely walk in many times. There are towering stone walls on both sides, fine sand under your feet, and many road sections are covered with a layer of shallow water and a thin layer of ice. Looking up, under the reflection of the blue sky, there are countless strange peaks and rocks in various poses and with different shapes. The landscapes such as God Dog Shougu, Xuantian Castle, Apparition Cave, Yunv Spring, and Crouching Hump are all lifelike.
The mysterious Aai Grotto in the canyon is less than 2 kilometers away from the entrance of the canyon. It hangs high above the cliff. At the beginning, it was only possible to climb up a hanging ladder more than 30 meters high. Now, a stone step plank road has been built next to it. According to textual research, the grottoes were built in the mid-hey Tang Dynasty. The grotto is very small, less than 5 meters deep, about the height of a person, and the roof of the cave is arched. There are remnants of murals on three sides of the cave, and there are rare Chinese characters on the murals, which are quite different from the other hundreds of grottoes in the ancient Western Regions, fully showing the traces of Han culture.
