Transparent Mengke Glacier (also known as Laohugou) is located in Daxue Mountain in Subei Mongolian Autonomous County, Gansu Province. It is a complete small mountain formed by the interruption of Qilian Mountains. It borders Changma Basin in the north, Shule River Canyon in the east, Yema River Valley in the south, and Gongcha Daban Pass in the west. With an average altitude of about 4,000 meters, Daxue Mountain is the highest mountain at the northern end of Qilian Mountains, and it is also the largest valley glacier in Qilian Mountains.

It was discovered by experts from the Alpine Glacier Research Station of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1959. "Transparent Mengke" is Mongolian, meaning tall and broad snow mountain. The transparent Mengke Glacier in Laohugou on the northern slope of Daxue Mountain in Qilian Mountains has a large snow accumulation area. Here, the snow peaks are covered all year round, straight into the sky; the century-old space is quiet and quiet, and no one disturbs them. The slope of the snow mountain is very gentle. If it is developed into a ski resort in the future, it will be more interesting for both climbing and skiing!
