Zemen Forest faces south and covers an area of ​​6240 square meters. The layout of the building is basically in the shape of a square courtyard. The entrance to the temple is a spacious courtyard surrounded by two-story Tibetan buildings on the west and front. The upper floor is housing and the lower floor is a corridor. The building covers an area of ​​1,725 ​​square meters.

The main building was built in two periods. The eastern half is called the "White Palace", which was presided over by the first living Buddha Ngawang Chuchen when he served as regent in 1777; the western half is called the "Red Palace", which belongs to the second living Buddha Ngawang Jiangbei. presided over the construction.
