Tumen Pass in Gansu Province, named Huor Zangxianggao in Tibetan, used to be an important pass on the Ancient Tea Horse Road and the dividing line between Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture.

The famous twenty-four passes in the Ming Dynasty included Tumen Pass. In the Qing Dynasty, Tumen Pass was a long-term pass in Guhe Prefecture (today's Linxia). In the third year of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty (1725), Tumen Pass was established as a place for the Han, Tibetan and Mongolian tea and horse exchanges. The gates are closed early, opened early and closed late, and the entrances and exits of merchants and passengers are patrolled by garrisons. The closed gate and watchtower were demolished in 1949.
