The Twelve Courtyards were first built in the Tang and Song Dynasties, and the royal family of the Han Dynasty in Pingping in the Ming Dynasty carried out large-scale reconstruction of the ancient buildings in Kongtong Mountain. Most of the existing main buildings are those of the Song and Ming Dynasties.

It is recommended to visit this series of Buddhist temples first after entering the scenic spot, and then enter the Jiugong area for sightseeing.
