The Wan'an Temple Grottoes are also known as Wanfo Temple, Shikong Temple, and Thousand Buddha Caves. The grottoes were excavated between the rocky cliffs in the middle of the mountain, and there are three inscriptions by tourists in the Song Dynasty on the flat pillars. The southwest wall is full of large and small niches and statues. There are two grottoes on the west wall of the stone mountain. The statues in the caves are all four walls and three floors. Surrounding the grotto are luxuriant forests and trees. In summer and autumn, the shade of the trees is whirling and cool, creating an extraordinary realm of "deep flowers and trees in the meditation room".

The eaves of the grottoes are well-preserved original objects in the Shaanxi Grottoes, and they are precious materials for studying the architecture of the Song Dynasty. It is of high value to the study of Chinese Buddhism and sculpture art. The plane of the grotto is "convex" and sits west to east. The entrance of the cave is square. This is an imitation architectural carving of the Song Dynasty, which is extremely delicate. In the middle is the entrance. There are relief statues of Guanyin Bodhisattva on the two walls of the corridor. There are 12 seated Buddha statues inside.

Nine standing Buddhas with a height of 2.8 meters are carved on the east and west walls of the cave, and there are five hundred arhats and one hundred disciples in relief on the back wall, creating a grand scene. The reliefs show the pictures of the Buddha's teachings and the pictures of Nirvana. Religious stories such as enlightenment under the bodhi tree and universal relief to all living beings. There are also statues on the southeast and northeast walls. The proportion of the statue is coordinated and the knife technique is smooth, which is a treasure of sculpture art.
