Xingyi Wanfo Temple is located in the southeast of Xingyi City, more than ten kilometers away from the city. It is a landscape in the Wanfenglin Scenic Area of Xingyi City, Qianxinan Prefecture. It is integrated with Wanfenglin Scenic Area, connected with Nidang Stone Forest and Wanfeng Lake, and belongs to the typical karst landform. Surrounded by beautiful green mountains, tall and straight rocks, and simple folk customs, it is a famous natural cave dojo in China.
Wanfo Temple was built in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. The cave is 126 meters wide and 82 meters high. The wonders in the cave are various and perfect, which can be called the essence of the cave. There are statues of Sakyamuni, Maitreya, Avalokitesvara, and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattvas. There are Daxiong Hall, Maitreya Hall, Avalokitesvara Hall, Ksitigarbha Hall, Zhaitang, and Guest Hall. Thousands of small Buddha statues are placed, implying the court of ten thousand Buddhas.
