Located on the mountainside of Zhongtiao, 25 miles southwest of Yongji City, it is one of the famous temples in Puzhou, corresponding to the world-famous Yingying Pagoda of Pujiu Temple. It was first built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, Shifo Temple, Zhuxi Temple, and Dumen Temple in Shendi Village, Pinglu County were merged into Wangu Temple. It was called "the first Zen forest in Zhongtiao".
Legend: Wangu Temple is the crystallization of master-student competition, and the Yingying Pagoda of Pujiu Temple facing it is the work of the master, so they are also called sister pagodas.
