The original village of Wengding Wa Nationality is located in Mengjiao Township, Cangyuan Wa Autonomous County, Lincang City. The natural scenery around the village is beautiful. Because it is basically undeveloped, it still retains the original ethnic architectural style and simple customs of the Wa people. It is a relatively well-preserved primitive group village so far.
Walking into the village, there is an open singing field, where the unique collective activities of the Wa people, such as plagiarizing cattle and pulling wooden drums, are usually held in the village. The entire stockade is made of bamboo and wood houses with stilts, facing the sun and backing the mountains, in a well-arranged pattern. The log is the skeleton supporting the house, the floor is paved with bamboo boards, the wall is surrounded by wooden boards, the roof is covered with thatch, and the eaves protrude, which can shade the sun and keep out the rain. The aboriginal Wa people are hospitable and live a simple life of self-sufficiency. Whenever visitors come here, they will beat wooden drums and sing "Jala Jiale Sai~" to welcome them.
