Wenshu Temple, also known as Guang'an Temple, was built in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. The temple sits north to south. The front of the original hall is dedicated to the statues of Tsongkhapa and Ten-faced Avalokitesvara, and the back is dedicated to Manjushri, Avalokitesvara and Vajrapani. The murals on both sides of the hall describe the stories of Tang monks learning scriptures, five hundred arhats and Buddha Jataka respectively.
Shanxi Provincial Tourism Bureau and Wutai Mountain Scenic Area added an ancient gatehouse in 1992, and built 51 wooden corridors with three purlins and single sheds on the northeast and west sides of the temple, with 120 stone steles built in. The front of the stele is engraved with the works of famous modern and contemporary calligraphers. The content is the couplets of poems chanted by ancient and modern poets chanting Wutai Mountain, which is a collection of the calligraphy of modern and contemporary calligraphers. Since then, Wenshu Temple has been renamed "Wenbo Garden".
