The main building of the Potala Palace consists of three parts. The Red Palace is in the middle, the White House is connected to the east, and Zhasha is connected to the west. The three are interlinked and integrated into one. The White House is named for its white exterior. The Potala Palace White House is the seat of the offices of the former Tibetan local government, with a height of seven floors.
Located in the center of the fourth floor, the Dongyouji Consummation Hall covers an area of 717 square meters. It is the place for major religious and political activities such as enthronements and pro-government ceremonies. The fifth and sixth floors are the offices and living rooms of the Regency. There are two sets on the seventh floor at the top. Because the sun shines here all day long, it is called the East and West Sunlight Halls.

09:00-16:00 throughout the year (last admission 15:00); from October 26, 2020, the overall building of the Potala Palace will be painted, and the business hours will be adjusted to 9:00-14:20.
