The World Horticultural Expo Garden, also known as the World Expo Garden, is located at the foot of Mingfeng Mountain in the northeast suburb of Kunming, about 6 kilometers away from the urban area. It is the venue of the 1999 Kunming World Horticultural Exposition. There are many kinds of trees and flowers in the garden, which are divided into several themed exhibition areas. It is a good place to appreciate the beautiful scenery of plants, flowers and gardens.
The World Horticultural Expo Park is divided into indoor and outdoor sections, consisting of five pavilions: China Pavilion, International Pavilion, Man and Nature Pavilion, Science and Technology Pavilion, and Greenhouse; six special exhibition gardens: Bamboo Garden, Vegetable and Fruit Garden, and Herb Garden , bonsai garden, arboretum, tea garden; three outdoor exhibition areas: domestic outdoor exhibition area, international outdoor exhibition area, and enterprise outdoor exhibition area. The integration of architectural art and sculpture art in the park, coupled with the decoration of various precious plants and flowers inside and outside the pavilions of various countries, makes the Expo Park even more colorful.
After the end of the 1999 World Expo, many foreign exhibition areas have been withdrawn, and the whole park has become a bit bleak, but it is still a good place to enjoy flowers in all seasons. In addition, the garden scenery of several Chinese provincial and municipal pavilions introduced on the ticket is also very interesting and worth stopping by. In the garden, there are often local old people who gather together somewhere and sing songs with the erhu, which has a special flavor.
The park area is very large, and there are many small attractions and exhibition halls. If you walk alone, it may take a whole day. You can take the battery car in the scenic spot, or take the small viewing train in the park to wander around at will.
