Shennv Scenic Spot is located in Guandu Town, Baolong Town, Jianping Township, Liangping Township and Peishi Township, Wushan County, Chongqing City. It is an important part of the main scenic spot of Wu Gorge in the Three Gorges Scenic Area of the Yangtze River. It is composed of three scenic spots, Shennvxi and Shennvtian Road, with a total area of 76 square kilometers, of which the core scenic area is 5.26 square kilometers. It is located in a humid subtropical zone, with a mild climate, abundant rainfall, and four distinct seasons, steep mountains and deep valleys, beautiful peaks, streams and rivers crossing, dark rivers and karst caves.
The geological structure of Shennv Scenic Area belongs to the anticline wing of the mountain range. Due to the large vertical height difference and complex terrain in the scenic area, it presents a vertically distributed three-dimensional climate characteristic. The climate here changes throughout the year, with one scene in each season and distinct characteristics. Spring is warm and flowers are blooming, birds are singing and flowers are fragrant, summer is warm in the morning and evening, autumn is 100,000 mu of red leaves, and winter is covered with snow and snow is falling.
The scenic spots include Denglong Peak, Shengquan Peak, Chaoyun Peak, Goddess Peak, Songluan Peak, Jixian Peak, Jingtan Peak, Qiyun Peak, Rising Peak, Feifeng Peak, Cuiping Peak, and Juhe Peak. High mountains and deep valleys, strange peaks and rocks, and dense forests. The scenery of the water area includes Hengshi River, Xiangjia River, Dajie River, Baolong River and other sightseeing river sections. The river channel is narrow, the water flow is fast, and there are few people. It is a typical karst landform landscape. The primeval forest is dense and the resources of wild animals and plants are abundant. Wushan Goddess Peak is known as the symbol of the "Oriental Goddess of Love" because it looks like a graceful girl, surrounded by misty clouds and mysterious and romantic myths and legends. Qu Yuan, Song Yu, Li Bai, Liu Yuxi, Yuan Zhen, Su Shi, Huang Tingjian , Lu You and other literati of the past dynasties, as well as Emperor Liang Yuan and Chen Houzhu, etc. went to Wushan or used it as a model, leaving 6,000 poems and songs, which were chanted endlessly.
