Wujinshan National Forest Park, belonging to the western edge of Taihang Mountains, is located about 7 kilometers north of Yuci District, Jinzhong City and about 20 kilometers east of Taiyuan City. It is composed of 25 mountains including Wujin Mountain (also known as Longwang Mountain), Dahong Mountain, Zijin Mountain and Zhonglin Mountain and Pearl Lake. The mountains in the scenic area are undulating and lush everywhere, which is a rare green world in Shanxi. The scenic spot has rich historical and cultural heritage. It has a deep historical relationship with Mount Wutai, a holy place of Buddhism, and it is known as the lower house of Mount Wutai, the dojo where Manjusri Bodhisattva lectures. The religious activities and temple construction here can be traced back to the Sui and Tang Dynasties, with a history of more than 1,400 years. During this period, many literati and dignitaries came to pay homage or visit, and left many ink marks and rhetoric for Wujin Mountain. Many temple complexes in the scenic area, such as Crystal Court Temple, Dragon King Temple, Taiqing Palace, Dafotai, Jiufeng Pagoda and so on, are built against the mountain, which makes Wujin Mountain look sacred and solemn. The mountain in the scenic area is not very steep, and it will not be very difficult to hike up the mountain. There is also Wujin Mountain Happy Valley in the scenic area, which is a large playground with a large turntable, Ferris wheel and other amusement items. There are not many supporting facilities in the scenic area at present. It is recommended that tourists bring some snacks and drinking water with them.
