Wuling Mountain straddles Dexinglong County in Chengde, Hebei Province and Miyun County in Beijing. There are three gates in the scenic area: the main gate (also called the south gate), the north gate and the west gate. The main gate is in Xinglong County, while the north gate and west gate are in Miyun County. Wuling Mountain includes four scenic spots: Xianren Pagoda, Qingliangjie, Longtan and Wulongtou. Except that there is no road in the Longtan scenic area and you need to walk by foot, there are roads in the other three scenic spots.
Immortal Tower Scenic Spot: To the north of Xinglong County, Chengde, Hebei is the main entrance of Wuling Mountain. Entering from the main entrance is the Immortal Tower Scenic Area. The famous scenic spots in the scenic area are Immortal Tower and Eighteen Pools. The Immortal Pagoda is a stone tower formed by natural weathering, standing abruptly and magnificently. Eighteen pools are 18 pools distributed in a canyon about 3 kilometers long. The waterfalls are connected with the pools, and there are vivid water features everywhere.
Qingliangjie Scenic Spot: About 5 kilometers east of Caojialu Village, Miyun County, Beijing is the north gate of Wuling Mountain. As soon as you enter the north gate, you will arrive at Qingliangjie Scenic Spot. The scenic spot has rich vegetation and fresh air. In summer, you can come here to play in the water and watch waterfalls. It is a summer resort.
Longtan Scenic Area: About 6 kilometers south of Caojialu Village, Miyun County, Beijing is the west gate of Wuling Mountain. Entering the west gate is Longtan Scenic Area, suitable for tourists who like to hike. As one of the four scenic spots without road access, self-driving tourists can enter from the main gate or north gate, drive to the Longtan parking lot, get off and take the cableway to enter the Longtan scenic spot. Longtan Waterfall is the highlight of the entire scenic spot, known for its large drop and beautiful shape.
Wulongtou Scenic Spot: This scenic spot is the location of Waitao Peak, the main peak of Wuling Mountain. When you climb to the top and look southeast, you can see five dragon-head-shaped boulders, commonly known as "Five Dragon Heads". The five mountains protruding from the dragon's head are the five giant dragons. It is said that the length and discontinuity of the five mountains represent the fate of the five emperors (Shunzhi, Kangxi, Qianlong, Xianfeng and Tongzhi) buried in the Eastern Tomb of the Qing Dynasty. Because it is a good place to enjoy the sea of clouds, sunset, sunrise and stars, many tourists will choose to stay here for one night.
