Wushan Small Three Gorges not only has green mountains and strange peaks, but also has historical sites such as hanging coffins of Ba people, boat coffins and ancient villages that have survived through the ages. Wushan Small Three Gorges is the general name of the Longmen Gorge, Bawu Gorge and Dicui Gorge in the lower reaches of the Daning River, a tributary of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, in Wushan County, with a total length of about 60 kilometers.
The way to visit the Small Three Gorges is to take a cruise ship from the wide valley of the Daning River, and then go all the way through Longmen Gorge, Bawu Gorge, and Dicui Gorge, and then turn back on the same road. The whole journey takes about 3 hours and stops at the end of the Dicui Gorge. You can change to a small boat to play the Little Three Gorges.
Take a boat from Wushan County Cruise Terminal to Wuxi Daning River, pass the New Longmen Bridge, and enter Longmen Gorge. The main gorge area from the entrance of Longmen Gorge to Yinwo Beach is about 3 kilometers long and consists of Shishoumen, Ganoderma lucidum Peak, Yinwo Beach, and Mojiao Beach. The two mountains face each other, and the cliffs on both sides are like cuts, revealing a line of blue sky, like a gate, so it is called Longmen Gorge. Yinwo Beach has fast and dangerous water, and during the boat trip, you can personally experience the thrill of "the water is as fast as an arrow, and the boat is as fast as flying".
Exiting Yinwo Beach is a wide valley area with gentle mountains and rivers, passing through Pipa Prefecture, passing through Mojiao Beach, and then entering Bawu Gorge. Bawu Gorge, also known as Iron Coffin Gorge, is named after a black hanging coffin commonly known as "iron coffin" in the crevice of the cliff 4 or 5 meters above the water on the east bank. According to textual research, the "iron coffin" is a hanging coffin of the Ba people in the Warring States Period. It is called the iron coffin because it looks like iron. Bawu Gorge is about 10 kilometers long from Wuguitan to Shuanglong. The mountains are high and the valleys are deep and misty. There are many stalactites on the cliffs on both sides.
Dicui Gorge is a particularly beautiful section of the Small Three Gorges, about 20 kilometers long from Shuanglong Town to Tujiaba. The cliffs on both sides of the Dicui Gorge stand tall and the trees are verdant. It is a good place to escape the heat in summer. There are Shuilian Cave, Moyan Buddha Statue, Sheep Beach, Dengtian Peak, Chibi Skyscraper, Feiyun Cave and other landscapes in the valley, all of which are more distinctive. What is particularly shocking is a cliff hundreds of meters high, piercing the sky like a knife, shining golden under the sunlight. This is the famous Chibi Skyscraper.
There are several wide valleys in the Small Three Gorges, and the riverbed is covered with various colorful pebbles with magnificent patterns. These are the famous "Three Gorges Stones". You can pick up a little here to take home, whether it is for playing by yourself or as a gift to relatives and friends.
