There is a village four kilometers east of Qinghe County, Hebei Province, named Wujiana. Outside Wujiana Village, under the shade of green trees and red walls, there is a simple courtyard, which is Wuzhi Temple and Wuzhi Ancient Tomb. "Water Margin" says: "Wu Dalang, a surname from Qinghe County." In fact, Wu Dalang's original name was Wu Zhi, which is completely different from the ugly scorpion described in "Water Margin".

Wu Zhi, courtesy name Tianling, was born in Wujiana Village (formerly known as Kongsongzhuang) in Qinghe County during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. His ancestral home was from Jinyang County, Shanxi Province. In the Yuan Dynasty, he moved from Shanxi to Wujiana Village in Qinghe, Hebei Province. Wu Zhi lost his father since he was a child, and he lives with his mother. Wu Dalang is smart and studious. He once worked as an apprentice in a dyeing house and was appreciated by his boss. He is smart and eager to learn, knowledgeable, capable of writing and martial arts, a middle-aged Jinshi, and serves as the magistrate of Qipin County in Yanggu, Shandong. He is a clean and honest official, and he is deeply loved by the people. When Wu Zhi's tomb was excavated in early 1946, a hanging coffin of nanmu was found. According to the unearthed bones of Wu Zhi, it is estimated that his height was at least 1.8 meters before his death, which is fundamentally not the image of "three inches of Ding, with bark of valley" in Shi Naian's works.

Why did such an upright person change into another look in "Water Margin"? It turned out that Wu Zhi had a young classmate Huang Tang. After Huang Tang lost his name to Sun Shan, unfortunately his home caught fire again, so he went to Wu Zhi, who was then the magistrate of Yanggu County in Shandong Province, to borrow money. He came to Yanggu County to live for half a month, but only met Wu Zhi on the day he came, because Wu Zhi has been busy with government affairs and has no time to take care of Huang Tang. Huang Tang thought that Wu Zhi was deliberately avoiding him, so he went back to Qinghe County angrily. Along the way, in order to vent his personal anger, he wrote a lot of bad things about Wu Zhi on the trees and walls beside the road, such as "Wu Dalang climbs the pole-he can't reach up and down", etc., and drew many pictures mocking Wu Zhi's image. . When Huang Tang returned home, he saw a newly built house bright and majestic. When Huang Tang asked his wife, he found out that after Wu Zhi learned of Huang Tang's experience, he sent someone to send money and helped build the house. He wanted to tell Huang Tang after everything was ready. Huang Tang regretted so much that he hurried back to Yanggu County, obliterating all the things he wrote and drew along the way. Unexpectedly, these things happened to be seen by Shi Naian, and they were written into his "Water Margin", which has been recited through the ages, and spread to the world.

Wu Zhi's wife, Pan's Jinlian, is from Huangjinzhuang Village, Qinghe County, less than two kilometers away from Wu's house. According to the "Pan's Genealogy" of Huangjinzhuang, there was Pan's residence at the end of the Song Dynasty. Because of the floods in the past, the terrain here is relatively high and has never been affected. The soil is fertile and the market is prosperous. village.

In the winter of 1992, members of the Wu clan in Wujiana Village excavated the ancient tomb of Wu Dalang. The tomb is in the shape of a round well. It is a hanging coffin tomb, and no relics have been found. To commemorate their ancestors, the Wu clan refurbished the tomb of Wu Dalang, and in 1996, they raised funds to build halls, exhibition rooms, walls, gates, and corridors. Build a stele building in front of the tomb, and write the following inscription:

"Wu Gong taboo planted the word Tianling. He was called Dalang when he was a child, and he was respected as the four elders in his old age. His wife, Pan, was a well-known Shuyuan. His ancestors lived in Jinyang County, and he was a descendant of Yin Wuding. He moved to Kongsongzhuang in Qinghe County. (now known as Wujiana) settled down. His father died when he was young, and his mother depended on each other. Food and clothing were difficult. When he was young, he was smart and admiring literature and martial arts, especially poetry and books. He was promoted to Jinshi in middle age, and officials worshiped seven ranks. He promoted the advantages and eliminated the disadvantages. Thank you Umbrella.

However, the long years have gone through vicissitudes, famous festivals have been slandered for no reason, and ancient tombs have suffered countless calamities, making good men and women drink and hate Jiuquan, which is a pity. Today, the tomb is repaired, the source is cleared, the name is rectified, and the Duke Wu is comforted to show future generations. It is to remember Yan.
