The national AAAA-level scenic spot and the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units are located in Xianfo Village, Xiangfeng Town, Laifeng County, 4.5 kilometers away from the county seat, at the starting point of Enlai Expressway. The scenic spot is located on the shore of Youshui River, adjacent to Xuan'en in the east, and across the river from Longshan County, Hunan Province in the south. In 1956, the Hubei Provincial Government announced that Xianfo Temple was one of the first batch of provincial-level key cultural relics protection units in the province, which is as famous as Wudang Mountain and Yuquan Temple. In June 2006, the cliff statues of Xianfo Temple were announced by the State Council as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
Xianfo Temple has always been a religious place in the border areas of Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing and Guizhou, and also a religious holy place for Tujia and Miao people. It integrates Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Especially during the three Dharma conferences on February 19th, June 19th, and September 19th of the lunar calendar, believers came from afar, boats raced on the river, thousands of people gathered in temples, and purple smoke enveloped Lingyun.
