Xiangbao Mountain, also known as "Zhaobi Mountain" and commonly known as "Pingding Peak", is named after the mountain's shape. It is located on the east side of Baoshan North Road in Guiyang City today.

Xiangbao Mountain consists of two connected peaks, the west peak is higher and the east peak is lower. As early as the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty, temples were built in Xishan, named "Xiangbao Temple", "Zhaobishan Temple", "Pingshan Temple", also known as "Pini Temple". "Bini" means precepts in Sanskrit, and the temple is the only temple in Guiyang, so it has this name.

Xiangbaoshan looks like a picture screen from a distance, and it looks like a boat with leaves and sails waiting to sail. During the Spring and Autumn Festival, there are many tourists, and poets and poets have always left many inscriptions here. Wu Tingzhen, Zhu Wen, Zou Yigui, Wang Benyu, Zheng Zhen, etc. all have poems about visiting Xiangbaoshan, many of which are recorded in local annals. These poems not only have certain literary appreciation value, but also are important historical materials for studying the history of Guiyang.

During the Anti-Japanese War, troops were stationed in the temple, and the dilapidated temple was destroyed again. In 1958, steel was smelted heavily, and the houses in the mountain temple were demolished. Only the ruins of the house foundations remained in the temple, and the old appearance was gone. In September 1983, Baoshan was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Guiyang City.
