Xianyang Museum is located in the middle section of Zhongshan Street in Xianyang City. The site of the museum is the Confucian Temple built in the Ming Dynasty (1371).

Xianyang Museum has a collection of nearly 20,000 pieces of cultural relics. There are currently seven exhibition rooms, including three exhibition rooms for historical relics in Xianyang, one exhibition room for cultural relics from the Western Han Emperor Mausoleum, two exhibition rooms for painted figurines of the Western Han Dynasty, and one temporary exhibition room. The cultural relics collected in the museum are mainly from the Qin and Han dynasties, which are valuable materials for studying the history and culture of the Qin and Han Dynasties. Precious cultural relics include: jade horses, jade figurine heads, and painted commander figurines of the Han Dynasty; gold and silver tripods, Anyi Xiaguan bells, dragon buttons and tiger charms of the King of Lu during the Warring States Period; carved red gold pots and three-color dromedary camels of the Tang Dynasty. Among them, the 3,000 painted terracotta warriors and horses of the Western Han Dynasty are the most famous.
