The Xiaochuan Porcelain Kiln Site is located in Ciyaogou in the north of Xiaochuan Village, Baoji Town, Pingchuan District, Baiyin City, 15 kilometers west of the urban area. The ruins are distributed from east to west along the north bank of Ciyaogou, transitioning from the Zhiyan kiln built on the mountain to the steamed bun kiln built on the flat ground, and the scale is gradually grand, covering an area of 600,000 square meters. The kiln site is mainly composed of four parts: Heishixian Remains, Dashuigou Remains, Old Porcelain Kiln Remains and Jingyuan Ceramics Factory Site, and the thickness of the accumulation layer is 6-10 meters. The Xiaochuan porcelain kiln was created and fired in the Northern Song Dynasty, and its tick-carved porcelain was fired earlier than other Xixia kilns. It has important reference value for the study of the origin, rise and fall of Xixia kilns. At the same time, the history of kiln firing went through the Song, Xixia, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties until the 1980s without interruption. There is a deep and complete cultural accumulation layer, which is of great value to the study of the northern folk kiln system since the Northern Song Dynasty. In October 2019, it was included in the list of the eighth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
