Xiaonong Base Camp is located on the way from Shangyubeng Village to Binghu Lake. It was the base camp of the Sino-Japanese joint mountaineering team. At an altitude of 3,900 meters, it is surrounded by vast snow-capped mountains (General Peak and Wuguan Peak) and large glaciers.

Xiaonong Base Camp is a small piece of relatively open plain on the road leading to the ice lake. In 1991, the base camp of the Sino-Japanese joint mountaineering team was stationed here. There are several dilapidated wooden houses left on the open space. Only during the peak tourist season, local Tibetans will sell instant noodles and drinks here. At the foot of the mountain is a large area of fallen huge pine trees, which can vaguely see the great power of the avalanche back then. Tourists come out of Yubeng Village and cross the pass to get here. Usually, they will take a rest here, drink a bowl of Tibetan butter tea, and then go through the base camp to the ice lake after replenishing their strength.
