Xie Zichang Martyrs Cemetery is located at the foot of Zoumaliang Mountain in the northeast of Wayaobao, Zichang County, Yan'an. It is a national key martyrs' memorial protection unit. The cemetery is surrounded by white brick walls, and the gate is inlaid with red five stars, a sickle and an ax that symbolize revolution. On the top of the gate, there are eight bright characters of "Xie Zichang Martyrs Memorial Hall". On both sides of the gate, there are brick-carved couplets with yellow characters on a blue background: Wholeheartedly set up the banner of revolution, be loyal and brave, and be called a people's hero. The "Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Tower" is more than 10 meters high inside the gate. The body of the tower is square, with ten cyan steles inlaid in the middle of each of the four sides. There is a showroom in the courtyard behind the tower. Behind the showroom is a forest of pines and cypresses, which is elegant and solemn. There is a 7-meter high platform at the back. The main part of the cemetery - the memorial hall and the mausoleum are built on the high platform. There are 4 steles in the memorial hall, with inscriptions engraved on them: "National Hero", "Death is still alive" and so on. Xie Zichang's tomb is behind the memorial hall. The mourning hall is tall, the coffin is covered with red quilts, and there is a portrait of Xie Zichang hanging in the mourning hall. Xie Zichang was born in Anding, Shaanxi (now Zichang, Shaanxi). After the failure of the first Civil Revolutionary War, he led uprisings in Qingjian and other places. In 1928, he and Liu Zhidan revolted in Weihua, established the Northwest Revolutionary Army, served as the captain of the second team, and later served as the commander-in-chief of the Shaanxi-Gansu Workers and Peasants Guerrillas. Opened up a revolutionary base in the Shaanxi-Gansu Border Region. In 1932, he served as chairman of the Northwest Revolutionary Committee. In 1934, he was wounded in the anti-encirclement and suppression war. Died the following year.
