Xining Confucian Temple was first built in the third year of Xuande in the Ming Dynasty (1428). After four expansions and repairs, it formed a scale of more than 80 mu. , corridor verandah wing wing". However, after hundreds of years of wind and rain, only the Dacheng Hall remains of this large-scale ancient building complex.
The front gate of the Confucian Temple has two archway gates connected by screen walls. On the lintels are written "Dao Guan Ancient and Modern" and "De Pei Tiandi" respectively. Passing through these two archway gates, you can see the magnificent archway head-on, with three big characters "Lingxingmen" written on it. The Lingxing Gate was built in 1741. It is more than ten meters high, with flying eaves and bucket arches. After the storm, it still stands tall.
In 2004, Xining City built shops, squares, etc. on the original site. The three-story antique roof, roof terrace, sunken square and exquisite covered bridge constitute the new Confucian Temple complex. The renovated Confucian Temple is centered on the existing Dacheng Hall and connected to the current Wenhua Street Night Market, becoming a new commercial area in the Chengzhong District of Xining City.
