Xishuangbanna Tropical Zoo was established in 2005. It is located in Fengqing Garden, covering a total area of 40 mu. There are more than 100 kinds of animals, including 30 kinds of tropical wild animals. These animals are very popular among local children. The Ethnic Customs Garden is located on the banks of the Liusha River 1 km southwest of Yunjinghong, covering an area of 667,000 square meters, of which the land area is 534,000 square meters and the water area is 133,000 square meters. The whole park is divided into South Park and North Park. In the lush tropical garden, there are six exhibition halls of ethnic minorities living in Xishuangbanna. It integrates the precious tropical animals and plants of Xishuangbanna with the rich ethnic customs, and is a microcosm of the beautiful and magical Xishuangbanna. Recently, some new animals have been introduced, including Arabian baboons. The male baboons in the park have not found a partner. This female baboon was introduced from Kunming Wildlife Park to pair it up. In addition, a pair of African zebras and a pair of ring-tailed lemurs were introduced. After the introduction of these animals, the zoo's (animal) population has reached 30 species.
