Xixia Dinosaur Relics Park, located in Danshui Town, Xixia County, Nanyang City, is an important scenic spot in the Funiu Mountain National Geopark. The Xixia dinosaur site belongs to the sedimentation of the Cretaceous rift basin. More than 1,000 dinosaur egg fossils have been exposed in the highest layer, and there are at least 16 egg-laying layers in the lower bottom layer. Among them, the Xixia giant elongated egg and the Gobi prismatic egg are rare in the world and are the symbols of Xixia egg fossils. A large number of dinosaur egg fossils have been unearthed in Xixia, which are various, widely distributed and well preserved, which can be called the world's best.
Xixia Dinosaur Relics Park is mainly composed of four parts: Geological Science Plaza, Dinosaur Egg Fossil Museum, Dinosaur Egg Ruins and Simulated Dinosaur Park. Geological Science Plaza: It is conceived on the theme of the time coordinate axis of the development of the earth's organisms. From north to south, it is divided into four parts: the Archaic Era, the Ancient Era, the Phanerozoic Era and the Modern Era. The Phanerozoic Era is divided into the Paleozoic Era, Mesozoic Era and The three regions of the new generation. In the Dinosaur Egg Fossil Museum, the group of egg fossils from the Xixia Basin is displayed. Among them, the giant elongated eggs are unique and the only type in the world, and they are also rare treasures bestowed by nature on human beings. The Gobi prismatic egg found in the upper part of the Gaogou Formation is the third place in the world where such egg fossils are found. In the scenic area, tourists can also go to the dinosaur egg ruins. The types of dinosaur eggs found here include: garden-shaped eggs, Sanli Temple tree-shaped eggs, long-shaped eggs, Xixia giant long-shaped eggs, Gobi prismatic eggs and branch eggs. .
