Xiyi Gorge is located in the south of Wuliguan and east of Shimen. It was named "Yunfeng Valley" in ancient times and was later named after the bones of Chen Tuan, a hermit in Song Dynasty, were buried here.
The two cliffs of Xiyi Gorge face each other, the sky is open, the blue mountains are steep, the forests are lush, the springs play the piano, and the clouds and mists escape from time to time, which is deep and mysterious. At the end of the gorge, there is a unique peak, standing like a candle, named Candle Peak.

On the upper right of the gorge mouth, there are hundreds of feet of precipitous cliffs, and there are caves carved out like giant chisels, which the world calls "Laojun tried to dig caves". On the huge rock in the side stream of the cave, there is a stone cave, named Yunxia Cave. This cave was excavated by Jia Desheng, a disciple of Chen Tuanling. After the stone cave was dug, he wrote to the court: "Chen Tuan Dashu has a dynasty, but the holy dynasty is hard to love. It was transformed into Zhang Chao under the lotus peak on the 27th of this month. In the valley.” It is said that he “died as scheduled, and after seven days, his limbs were still warm. There were five-colored clouds covering the entrance of the cave, and the moon would not disperse.” The stone inscription "cloud trees give birth to fragrance" is based on this legend.

Kang Hai, a famous writer in the Ming Dynasty, wrote in his poem "Wangxi Yi Gorge": "Mingshan is beautiful and majestic, and the wind and smoke are dark in the view. The green brocade barriers of Wandi fruit. The white stone nest is cleared. I am ignorant, and I feel that I am tired of pondering. The master laughs without the back of a donkey. Who knows the song of the wind in Chen Qiao."
