Xuanyuan Temple, also known as the Huangdi Temple, was first built in the Han Dynasty. It is one of the main attractions in the Yellow Emperor's Mausoleum and the main place for worshiping the Yellow Emperor. Xuanyuan Temple is built by mountains and rivers, facing south from the north, and consists of two parts: Xuanyuan Temple and the Sacrifice Hall.

The Humanities First Ancestor Hall was first built in the Ming Dynasty, with seven rooms wide and three rooms deep. On the forehead hangs the four big characters "Humanistic First Ancestor" inscribed by Mr. Cheng Qian when he sacrificed the mausoleum in 1938. On the east side of Xuanyuan Temple is the Stele Gallery, which contains more than 50 ancient and modern stone steles.

The more famous one in the Xuanyuan Temple is the Yellow Emperor's hand-planted cypress, which is located 2 meters to the left of the Xuanyuan Temple gate. According to legend, it was planted by Xuanyuan Huangdi himself. It is more than 5,000 years ago and is the oldest cypress tree in the world. The cypress tree is more than 20 meters high and 11 meters in diameter at breast height. It is vigorous and straight, with a canopy covering the sky. The leaves are not fading in all seasons, and the layers are dense, like a huge green umbrella.

The sacrificial hall was newly built in 2004. Under the eaves of the main hall, there are three big characters "Xuanyuan Temple" in official script written by Huang Miaozi, a famous calligrapher. The front of the main hall is paved with granite, and there are "three mountains and five mountains" stones on display. There are 9 pairs of 2-meter-high bronze bull tripods standing around the square.
