The Yaowangshan Stone Carvings are the biggest highlight of the Yaowangshan Scenic Area. These stone inscriptions are numerous in number and rich in content. In addition to a large number of Moyan statues, Moyan stone archways, animal and plant stone inscriptions and other cultural relics, there are also more than 300 statue steles from the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Sui and Tang Dynasties and more than 300 chronicle steles, known as the forest of steles. .


Yaowang Mountain is the place where many statues and steles of the Northern Dynasties, Sui and Tang Dynasties are preserved in China. There are mainly two kinds of steles and grottoes. Among them, there are more than 100 inscriptions, among which six inscriptions such as "Thousand Gold Prescriptions" and "Sea Fairy Prescriptions" carved during the Longqing period of the Ming Dynasty are more precious. These are the essence of Sun Simiao's summarization of ancient Chinese medical knowledge and his life's practical experience, and they are valuable materials for the study of Chinese medicine.

Stone statues include more than 100 statues from the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty unearthed since the end of the Qing Dynasty. The "Stele of Wei Wenlang Statue" in the first year of the Northern Wei Dynasty, the "Stele of the Brothers Yao Boduo" in the 20th year of Taihe, Zhengguang The "Monument of the Statue of Qiu Chensheng" in the fifth year, the "Monument of the Statue of Jiang Alu" in the first year of Wucheng in the Northern Zhou Dynasty, and the "Monument of the Statue of Zhang Heren" in the 15th year of Kaihuang in the Sui Dynasty are relatively famous.


The grottoes are distributed on the cliff face with a length of more than 20 meters from east to west in the southeast corner of the mountain, and were basically carved in the Sui and Tang Dynasties. There are 7 caves, 23 niches and more than 40 Buddha statues. There are relief sculptures of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the niches, and shallow carvings of heavenly kings and supporters on the side of the niches. Among them, the Maitreya statue of the Northern Zhou Dynasty in Cave No. 2 is the most exquisite.
