Dunhuang Yadan Geopark, also known as Dunhuang Devil City, is located on the Gobi 180 kilometers northwest of Dunhuang City. It is an important landscape for tourists to visit the Dunhuang West Line (including Yumen Pass, Han Great Wall, Yang Pass, West Thousand Buddha Caves and other attractions).
The park is dominated by a large area of unique Yardang landforms, which looks fantastic and spectacular above the Gobi, and every evening when the sun shines in the west, it is an excellent place to shoot large-scale photography.
Devil City has a large area, about 25 kilometers long and 13 kilometers wide. There are various wind-eroded landforms in different shapes distributed in stretches. There are two areas in the scenic area, the northern line and the southern line. Tourists can take the shuttle bus to play the northern line and then end the tour. The whole journey takes about 1.5-2 hours. You can also take an off-road vehicle after visiting the northern line and then play the southern line. This kind of loop tour takes about 3-4 hours in total.
The shuttle bus in the scenic spot is equipped with a tour guide. After entering the scenic spot, tourists need to take the shuttle bus to play. The shuttle bus will stop at 4 scenic spots on the northern line of the park, namely the Golden Lion Welcome, Pyramid, Peacock and West Sea Fleet. Tourists take the same car for the whole trip and stop at each scenic spot for about 10-30 minutes. The Golden Lion Welcome, Pyramid, and Peacock are all single wind-eroded stone mountains, and their shapes are very similar to their names. The West Sea Fleet is a group of landforms. This scenic spot is also the most spectacular one among the four viewing spots. There are warship-shaped mounds in the shape of a fleet, which are distributed in parallel on the Gobi Gobi. It really looks like a fleet, which is very unique. In addition, in the area where vehicles do not stop, there are also many unique wind-eroded rock masses with different shapes on both sides, so don't miss it when you are riding.
After arriving at the Battleship Xihai, you can return to the original road with the car to end the tour, or you can take an off-road vehicle to go deep into the southern line. The area of the south line is larger than that of the north line, and there are more landscapes. There are many celebrity heads, cartoon images, etc., as well as a golden turtle playing a toad, two dragons playing a pearl, and a natural bridge. And there is also a desert landscape here, you can enter the desert to play, and take pictures of the sunset in the desert together. You can discuss with the driver when taking the car, and stop and take pictures in front of your favorite scenic spots. It is more casual, so it is more worthwhile to take an off-road vehicle.
