The source of the Yellow River is located in Maduo County in the hinterland of Qinghai, and it is formed by the alpine snow water from the surrounding mountains and rivers such as the Kunlun Mountains and Bayan Har Mountains. At present, the source of the Yellow River in the general sense refers to the Zhaling Lake and Ering Lake near Bayan Langma Mountain, and it is also a key place for tourists to visit the source of the Yellow River. Zaling Lake Ering Lake is composed of snow water from high mountains. Because it is located on a plateau without pollution, the lake is clear and blue, and the scenery is very beautiful. Every summer, the grasslands beside the lake are green, and Tibetan antelopes can often be seen. The famous Bull Head Monument commemorating the source of the Yellow River is also here, and it is a must-see for tourists to take pictures.
Going to the Yellow River Source Scenic Area is usually in summer, and due to the high altitude, it is easy to be blocked by heavy snow in other seasons. The road conditions in the scenic area are poor, and generally only off-road vehicles can enter.
