Yili River, also known as Yishui, Yilishui, etc., is located 16 kilometers away from the suburbs of Yining. It is an inland river with a large flow in Xinjiang. It has a wide surface and beautiful scenery. It has a total length of 1,500 kilometers. The estuary flows into Kazakhstan and then into Lake Balkhash.

The beautiful Yili River has towering snow peaks and green trees. There is the famous Yili Bridge near the Yining River. This is a good place to shoot the sunset. "Yiqiao Sunset" has become a good subject for photographers .

The upper reaches of the Yili River are mountainous rivers. Above Yili Village, the river course twists and turns, flowing through a wide valley with many swamps and lakes. From below Yili Village, it enters the Kangchagai Canyon that crosses the Kaloy Highlands, and then enters the Kapuchagai Canyon, where the famous Kapuchagai Hydropower Station is built.

The Ili River Valley has three sources, namely the Tekes River, the Kashgar River and the Gongnais River. Among them, the Tekes River has the largest water volume and is the main source of the Ili River. It is also another important plate after the Ili River Valley in Western Xinjiang.

The so-called Tekes River is the main source of the Ili River. The beautiful and rich Ili River Valley has long fascinated every inland person, but the Tekes River Valley, which accompanies it and shares weal and woe, is much more low-key.

There are three source streams in the upper reaches of the Yili River, namely the Tekes River, the Gongnais River and the Kashi River. The main source of the Ili River, the Tekes River, originates from the north side of the Khan Tengger Peak, is about 430 kilometers long, flows through the Zhaosu Basin and the Tekes Valley, and is called the Yili River after converging with the Kunes River and the Kashi River. The east source of the Gongnais River flows between Andir Ula and Nalati Mountain, with a length of about 258 kilometers. The northern source of the Kashgar River flows between Yilian Habirga Mountain and Andir Ula, with a length of about 304 kilometers.
