Yongren Fangshan is located in the northeast of Yongren County, Chuxiong Prefecture, 16 kilometers away from Yongren County and about 280 kilometers away from Chuxiong City. Fangshan Mountain has a unique shape, with a wide and gentle top, steep cliffs on the edge, and is flat and square when viewed from all sides, hence the name "Fangshan".

Fangshan is a good place to escape the summer heat. In addition to being "square", it is also "cool". The annual average temperature here is 12°C, and the high temperature does not exceed 24°C, which is especially cool in summer. Fangshan is located on the main road of Yunnan and Sichuan. It used to be a place for monks to chant scriptures between Jizu Mountain and Mount Emei, so it was once a place of Buddhism in history.

Fangshan is the key point of Sichuan and Yunnan and the crossing of the Jinsha River. It has become a battleground for military strategists due to its condescending, easy-to-defend and difficult-to-attack terrain. From the Three Kingdoms period to the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty more than 1400 years later, Fangshan, as an important military location, has continuously improved its fortifications and once stationed nearly 100,000 troops. The Zhuge camp site at the eastern foot of Fangshan Mountain, and the camp remains on the south top and west side of Fangshan Mountain are still there today.

Looking into the distance from Wangjiang Ridge, there are continuous mountains and rivers, the Shu River is like a practice, and the clouds and mists are transpiring; standing on the Xianggu Qing, stomping your feet, you can vaguely hear the sound of "dongdong" drums. It is said that Zhuge Liang buried the bronze drum here to repel the enemy soldiers. The ground here will always make a sound like a bronze drum; Tartary Buckwheat is a collection of strange stones, ancient trees, and cliff stone carvings; Sendai, Dengxianya and many other scenic spots; Pearl Dishuiyan is the main outlet of Fangshan's water source. Spring water gushes out from the mountain rocks and flows straight down. In the rainy season, the water flow increases greatly, pouring into the deep pool, and the water roars.

Reminder: The temperature in Yongren Fangshan Mountain is lower than that of the surrounding urban and rural areas, so you should prepare a warmer jacket for mountaineering.
