Yubeng Village is a Tibetan village at the foot of Goddess Peak in Meili Snow Mountain. It is divided into two villages, Shangyubeng (3,150 meters above sea level) and Xia Yubeng (3,050 meters above sea level). The distance between the two is about one kilometer. Shangyubeng can lead to the ice lake He Xiaonong base camp, and Yubeng leads to Shenpu and Shenhu.

In addition, it is also the only place to pass when going around the Meili Snow Mountain. Because it is located deep in the mountains and there is no road, Yubeng is like a paradise. There is a saying among travel friends: If you don’t go to heaven, go to Yubeng.

At present, Yubeng is not accessible by road, so you have to rely on two legs to get in. To enter Yubeng from the outside, you need to walk 17 kilometers from Xidang and climb over the 3,700-meter-high Nanzong Pass to Shangyubeng. The uphill section before turning over the pass is more difficult to walk. If you are not physically strong, you can also rent mules for this section. There are rest stops along the way where you can buy instant noodles and water. After passing the pass, there is a 6-kilometer downhill to Shangyubeng.

Yubeng is one of the good places to shoot the scenery of Shennvfeng. When the weather is fine, the shooting locations are Nanzong Pass and Shangyubeng's Meili Inn and Hiker's Home, and Yubeng's Shenpu Inn.

In addition to taking pictures, most people who come to Yubeng Village come on foot. There are inns in Shangyubeng and Xiayubeng. They are basically remodeled by local farmers. The conditions are average, and there is no guarantee of 24-hour electricity. and hot water for bathing. Usually stay in Yubeng Village for one night and start hiking the next morning. There are three classic hiking routes: Shenhua Waterfall, Ice Lake and Shenhu Lake.

God Waterfall:
It takes about 4-5 hours to go back and forth from Yubeng Village to Shenpu. This is the less difficult road among the three routes. Except for a few steep slopes at the back, the first few parts are mainly flat roads, which is a primary hiking route. People with poor physical strength must at least come to the waterfall, otherwise it will really come to Yubeng for nothing. The water volume of the waterfall is not large, and there is a rocky beach below. You can go to the bottom of the waterfall and walk around the waterfall clockwise three times in accordance with Tibetan traditions to pray for blessings. Here we often meet Tibetans who come here from the mountains. Maybe the scenery of the waterfall is not as good as the ice lake, but faith gives meaning to the waterfall. Even if you don’t have faith, you will feel awe.

Ice Lake:
The difficulty of hiking to the ice lake is no less than that of entering Yubeng, and it takes about a day to go back and forth. There are many forks along the road, but many predecessors have marked the forks, so it is unlikely to get lost. But this section of the road is more difficult to walk, you can ask a guide to be on the safe side.
It takes about 4 hours to ride a mule or walk from Shangyubeng to arrive at Xiaonong Base Camp, which was once the base camp of the Sino-Japanese joint mountaineering team climbing Meili Snow Mountain in 1991. After a short rest here, continue up the steep path for about 1 hour, climb up a big rock, and you can see the frozen lake. This is a frozen lake, which looks like a piece of rough jade against the surrounding meadows and snow-capped mountains. When the weather is good, you can see the ice surface reflecting the sacred mountain. You can walk to the bottom of the mani pile around the lake and touch the melting ice and snow for thousands of years. But be sure to pay attention to the movement above your head, and don't make loud noises. Small avalanches often occur here, so pay attention to safety.

God Lake:
Among the three scenic spots in Yubeng, Shenhu Lake is the most mysterious, with a high altitude (5360 meters), beautiful scenery and great difficulty. It is about 18 kilometers away from Yubeng, and it is easy to get lost. You need to hire a guide, and it is not recommended for the infirm and those who are highly rebellious. It is worth mentioning that on the way to Shenhu Lake, you will pass through Cuoka Ranch. The scenery here is very beautiful in summer. You can bring a tent sleeping bag and stay in the cowshed of the ranch for one night, and go to Shenhu Lake the next day. too tired.
What needs special attention is that the sacred lake is very sacred in the hearts of Tibetans. The lake water can only be drunk, and it is not allowed to wash anything. Be sure to respect local customs when visiting.
