The Yujin Bridge was first built in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. It has collapsed and been damaged by wars for hundreds of years. In 1931, the people of Shaxi, Jianchuan County, Dali Prefecture, Yunnan Province raised funds to rebuild the ancient bridge. Zhao Fan, a famous scholar of the Bai nationality, rebuilt the Yujin Bridge. Specially wrote "Bridge Construction Recruitment".
Yujin Bridge spans 12 meters, 6 meters high, 35.4 meters long, 5 meters wide, and has stone pillars and stone slab guardrails. There is a stone turtle head on the vault, looking majestically at the upper reaches of the Heihui River. On the other side is a stone turtle tail connecting the lower reaches of the Heizhan River. At the end of the guardrail are four stone sculptures of "salamanders".
The ancient bridge is the only way for the Bai people who have lived in Shaxi for generations to work in the fields and do business. The stone slabs of the bridge are glowing green and full of potholes due to the trampling of passing vehicles, horses and pedestrians. The ancient bridge bears the rich history of Shaxi Ancient Town, welcoming and sending generations of ancestors to Shaxi year after year.
