The Yulong River is a tributary of the Li River in Yangshuo. The river water is as clear as a mirror, and you can easily take pictures like landscape paintings. Compared with the scenery of the Lijiang River, the scenery of the Yulong River is more gentle, known as the "Little Lijiang River". Bamboo rafting on the Yulong River is very famous. You can sit on the raft and savor the beautiful landscape and pastoral scenery along the river.

There are three ways to visit the Yulong River: walking, cycling, and rafting on the Yulong River (the whole journey is about 15 kilometers). Rafting on a bamboo raft on the Yulong River, the scenery on both sides of the river is picturesque, very enjoyable. It takes 4-5 hours to raft the whole Yulong River (Jinlong Bridge to Gongnong Bridge), usually divided into the first half and the second half. There are Jinlong Bridge, Yulong Bridge, Jiuxian, Jima, Shuierdi, Gongnong Bridge, Wanjing and so on at the wharf. If you choose to raft in the first half of the Yulong River (Jinlong Bridge to Jiuxian), the rafting time is about 1.5 hours, passing Yulong Bridge and Rhino Pond along the way. The second half of the rafting (Chaoyang/Jima to Gongnong Bridge) is mostly tourists with the group.

riding + rafting

If you plan to take a day trip, the recommended way is to ride in the first half and drift in the second half. Cycling from Fuli Bridge to Chaoyang/Jima Wharf, then rafting the lower half of Yulong River to Gongnong Bridge. Bicycles are transported downstream by special boats, and when you land, your bicycle is already there waiting for you. In this way, you can not only enjoy the fun of cycling, but also take a bamboo raft to see the scenery.

On the way to ride, you will pass Fuli Bridge, which is about 12 kilometers away from Yangshuo County. It is a recommended place to watch the pastoral scenery on both sides of the river. There is also Yulong Bridge, which looks very similar to Fuli Bridge, but is more famous, and Jiuxian Village, which is known as "General's Mansion" and "Jinshi Pavilion". You can visit ancient buildings, ruins of city walls, ancient wells, etc., and take a break by the way. After the tour, return to Yangshuo from Gongnong Bridge, and enjoy the scenery of Shili Gallery along the way. After dinner in the evening, you can just go to watch Impression Liu Sanjie’s performance. If you still have energy, you can go to experience the nightlife of West Street after the performance.

If you can stay in Yangshuo for one night, you can take a car to raft Jinlong Bridge-Gongnong Bridge on the first day, ride around Yangshuo County in the afternoon, and see Impression Liu Sanjie in the evening. On the second day, I rented a bicycle from Yangshuo County and rode around the river, visiting the big banyan tree and Moon Mountain in the lower reaches of the Yulong River, which was relatively leisurely. There are family hotels and farmhouses in Moon Mountain Village, where you can rest and eat.

Most of the Yulong River rafting meals are settled in Jiuxian Village. There are many farmhouses to choose from here. The famous one is the Laogen Farmhouse Restaurant. It is recommended to try signature dishes such as braised chicken, Lipu taro, fried rapeseed, and beer sword bone fish.
