Located at the foot of Huashan Mountain, Yuquanyuan is the main place for Taoist activities in Huashan Mountain, and it is also the only place for tourists to visit Huashan Mountain from Huashan Valley. It is said that when Chen Tuan's ancestor and Zhao Kuangyin played against Huashan, Zhao Kuangyin lost Huashan to Chen Tuan and exempted him from taxation. Since then, many alchemists and Taoists have come here to practice. The 72 semi-suspended caves on Huashan Mountain are the places where Taoist priests practiced.

Yuquan courtyard is a garden building, backed by Huashan Mountain, surrounded by towering ancient trees, and there is a spring in the courtyard, the spring water is sweet and clear. According to legend, Princess Jinxian of the Tang Dynasty drew water to wash her hair in the jade well of Zhenyue Palace on the mountain. She accidentally dropped the jade hairpin into the water. This spring is Yuquan. Therefore, Yuquanyuan got its name.

There is Xiyi Temple in Yuquan courtyard, whose name comes from the title of "Mr. Xiyi" bestowed on Chen Tuan by Emperor Taizong of Song Dynasty. Xiyi Temple is divided into front and back halls. On the left side of the front hall is the "Huashan Quantu stele", and on the right side is the stele "The First Mountain" written by Mi Fu, a calligrapher of the Song Dynasty. There is a statue of Chen Tuan in the back hall. Shansun Pavilion was built on a big rock. It is said that Chen Tuan often watched the mountain scenery here and wrote books. Beside the pavilion is an ancient tree named Wuyou Tree, which is said to have been planted by Chen Tuan. The back hall is the main activity place of Huashan Taoism, and there is a plaque of "Tao Chong Qing Miao" written by Empress Dowager Cixi on the door. There is a "itchy tree" in the middle, once the tree is touched, the whole tree will tremble.
