Zhamei Temple is located at the foot of Gul Mountain in the northwest of Cobbler Street, Yongning Township, and corresponds to Gemu Mountain in the east. The dark hall, flickering butter lamps, golden prayer wheels, exquisite religious murals and gorgeous and solemn colorful carvings in Zami Temple exude mystery and sanctity. Different from other temples, in addition to Buddha statues, there are also statues of Gemu enshrined in Zami Temple.

Zhalmei Temple is a larger Tibetan Buddhist temple in the Mosuo and Pumi areas of Yunnan. It was built in the Ming Dynasty and originally belonged to the Kagyu Sect temple. According to legend, Karmapa, the founder of Baijiao, inspected Xikang and passed through Yongning. He learned that the location of the temple was called "Zamege" in Mosuo language, and the transliteration happened to mean "peace" in Tibetan, so he decided to build a temple here. During the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, it was expanded and converted to the Gelug Sect, which now belongs to the Gelug Sect (Yellow Sect) monastery.
