From 1944 to March 1947, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China moved from Yangjialing to Zaoyuan. After the central government withdrew from Yan'an in 1947, Zaoyuan was severely damaged, and the existing buildings were rebuilt after the founding of the People's Republic of China.

At present, the scenic spot has opened the small auditorium of the Central Secretariat, the former residences of great people, the "serving the people" speech platform, the central medical office, the happiness canal and other scenic spots. The scenic spot is free and open, and there is no need to receive a ticket for the visit at present, and tourists can directly enter and visit.

Zaoyuan was originally a manor of a landlord. It is different from Yangjialing. If the cave dwellings in Yangjialing are the landscape of folk houses in northern Shaanxi, then this place is full of pastoral scenery. When you walk into the jujube orchard, you will feel like an open farm with lush vegetation. Located on the right side of the jujube garden near the hillside, you can see the "happiness canal" built in the past. It is this canal that turns the dry land in the garden into irrigated land, and the crops are harvested every year.

In the center of Zaoyuan, you can see the small auditorium of the Secretariat of the Central Committee, which is also the club and meeting room of the Secretariat. The decisions of the "Chongqing Negotiations" were determined here. Many major events in history took place in this garden.
