Zhang Zai Temple is located in Hengqu Village, Hengqu Township, Mei County, Baoji. Zhang Zai Temple, also known as Zhang Zi Temple, is the place where Zhang Zai, a famous thinker, philosopher, educator and founder of "Guan Xue" in the Northern Song Dynasty, gave lectures. It is a provincial key cultural relic protection unit.
Zhang Zai's Ancestral Hall faces south from the north, and the building is symmetrical about the central axis. It was first built in the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The existing buildings are mainly built during the Daoguang Period of the Qing Dynasty. There are currently four buildings: the dedicated hall, the east and west wing rooms, the mountain gate, the back hall and the school. The apse and school hall were demolished and rebuilt due to collapse. The famous Hengqu Academy in the Qing Dynasty was once established here. The cultural relics in the temple include one side of the plaque bestowed by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, the reconstruction of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty and the Qianlong Dynasty in the Qing Dynasty and the eight-way stone stele of the temple, the original woodcut "Hengqu Zhi·Volume 6" and "The Eighteenth Generation's Ancestral Temple", etc. .
