Zhangbei Bashang Grassland belongs to the area under the jurisdiction of Hejiaying Township and Mantouying Township, Zhangbei County, Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province. It is adjacent to Zhangshi Expressway. It is a large grassland area, mainly composed of two major grasslands, Zhongdu and Anguli. It used to be the place where the Qing emperor went on a hunting tour in autumn, and now it has been commercialized into two grassland resorts. "Bashang" is a geographical concept, specifically referring to the area formed by a steep rise, and the grassland formed due to climate and vegetation.

Now a major feature here is the Zhangbei Grassland Music Festival held every summer. It is held in Zhongdu Grassland Resort every year at the end of July and early August. At that time, many stars and individual youths who love rock music will come here. It also brought a lot of popularity to the grassland. The weather on weekdays on the grassland is unpredictable, so you need to bring rain gear; the sun is very hot at noon, it is recommended to use sunscreen or wear a sun hat, and dress as lightly and comfortably as possible. If summer comes, due to the large temperature difference between morning and evening, in addition to bringing a change of clothes with you, try to bring a coat as much as possible.

People who come here basically choose to drive by themselves and drive all the way along the Zhangshi Expressway. What is more distinctive is that there are many reliefs on both sides that reflect the Mongolian characters and the history of the Yuan Dynasty. If you are interested, you can stop and have a look. The air on the grassland is pure, there is little pollution, and the weather is cool in summer. You can see golden wheat piles, beautiful daisies, shepherds and sheep. The blue sky, white clouds, and grass are well combined. It is a good choice to enjoy the sunrise and sunset here. There are boundless grasslands on both sides of the road. You can stop, take a look, take photos, and leave good memories.

Generally, tourists will choose to stay on the grassland for one night when they come here. You can choose to bring your own tent, or you can choose to live in a farmyard. If your economic conditions permit, you can even live in a grassland resort. Trying a yurt is also a good choice. Of course, if it happens to be during the music festival, the house price may soar. The ordinary room in the farmhouse usually costs 50 yuan per room, and it may rise to 300 yuan per room during the festival.

If you choose to live in a farmhouse or grassland resort, you can choose to ride a horse on the grassland during the day, the price is about 100 yuan per hour, and watch the equestrian show. At night, you can dance around the bonfire and set up a stove to roast the whole lamb. Of course, the price is expensive. Generally, the price is between 1000-2000 yuan depending on the fat or thinness. Counting stars on the grass is also a good choice.

In addition, if you have time, you can go to the nearby Yuanzhongdu Ruins and Zhangbei Lavender Manor the next day.
