Zhangye Sanyuan Museum is located at No. 14 Jiefang Lane, Dayamen Street, Ganzhou District, Zhangye City, with more than 10,000 exhibits.

Sixty copies of Dunhuang murals inscribed by Zhang Daqian, Xie Zhiliu, and Yu Zhizhen are collected in the museum, all of which are handmade on wool and silk and painted with mineral pigments. The paintings are exquisite and delicate, with plump muscles and bones, and solemn facial expressions. The volume is particularly precious, and the inscription "Ancient City Ganzhou" fully demonstrates Zhangye's importance in the integration of civilizations on the Silk Road, as if you were in the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang. The “Pictures of Ladies” from the Jin and Tang Dynasties and the “Pictures of Wenhui” from the Song Dynasty reproduced the scenes of ancient literati gatherings left in the Dunhuang Sutra Cave. The paintings of Tang Bohu, Qiu Ying and Dong Qichang in the Ming Dynasty are precious and unique. The "Famous Generals Fighting Thieves" painted by Jin Tingbiao, a court painter in the Qing Dynasty, is a true portrayal of the famous Qing general Fukang Ping'an's victory over the battle of Guerqi.

In the porcelain exhibition hall, there are Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, Guan, Ge, Ru, Ding, and Jun famous kiln porcelain, especially the large vases with sixteen processes of Qianlong in Qing Dynasty, which are respected as the "mother of porcelain" and are very precious. The celadon porcelain of the Tang Dynasty, the Guan, Ge, Ru, Ding, and Jun porcelains of the Song Dynasty, the blue and white flowers and bucket colors of the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, and the peerless fine works of official kilns of the Qing Dynasty are all displayed. In particular, the large vases of glazed porcelain mothers with sixteen processes are unique.

The Silk Road Exhibition Hall of the Han and Tang Dynasties exhibits typical figurines of Hu people playing and singing in the Western Regions, Tang Sancai horses with twisted tires, camels and other exhibits, recreating the prosperity of the ancient Silk Road. Holding sheng, xiao, pipa and other musical instruments, the figurines of the Tang Dynasty colored pottery flying and dancing group fully demonstrate the beauty of the whirling and graceful curves of the Western Regions.
