Xiangshan is formed by connecting three pinnacles in the east, west and middle. The three peaks are abrupt, arranged in this way, shaped like a pen stand, placed horizontally in space, so it is also called Sanshi Mountain or Bijia Mountain, and it was renamed Xiangshan in the Qing Dynasty. Xiangshan Mountain is tall and steep, with green forests of ancient cypresses and majestic and simple palaces. Surrounded by mountains beyond the three peaks, such as Gongbeichen, it presents a beautiful scene of greenery and emerald green everywhere, which makes people feel refreshed.

Xiangshan is one of the eight holy places of Buddhism in my country. According to legend, Princess Miaoshan cultivated herself and became a Buddha (Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva) here. There is a natural stone cave halfway up the middle peak of Xiangshan Mountain, known as Qifeng Cave, which is the main cave of Xiangshan Mountain, in which the "Thousand-handed Thousand-Eyes Bodhisattva" is enshrined, also known as Xiangshan Bodhisattva. According to the legend in "Daxiangshan Chronicles", Xiangshan Temple is the place where Princess Miaoshan, the third daughter of King Miaoshan, practiced. In the past, Princess Miaoshan became a monk due to dissatisfaction with her marriage. She began to live in Baique Temple in Suining, Sichuan. Later, when King Zhuang got sick and asked for a doctor's prescription, the princess asked for the hands and eyes of his relatives, so the princess sacrificed her own hands and eyes to heal King Zhuang's disease. Therefore, the princess was granted the title of "Living Bodhisattva with Thousand Hands and Thousand Eyes", which is the center of Buddhist worship. The establishment of a monastery in Xiangshan began in the 4th century AD, when Kumarajiva, an eminent monk from Kucha, was invited to translate Buddhist scriptures here. In the Song Dynasty, Zhongfeng Qifeng Cave was built, and Shengguoyuan and Baique Temple were built. During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, more than 90 buildings and pavilions of various types were built.

The Xiangshan Temple Fair is held twice a year on March 15th and October 15th in the lunar calendar. Incense is flourishing, and mountaineering worshipers gather here. Every year, overseas monks come to Xiangshan to carry out Buddhist activities. More than 100,000 tourists from home and abroad come here for sightseeing and pilgrimage. During the temple fair, the scenery of the mountains and fields may be pleasant in spring, with unique fragrances; or the eyes may be full of red, and the autumn air is refreshing, which makes pilgrims and tourists full of interest. Every April when the flowers bloom in the Zhenggou of Xiangshan Mountain, there are thousands of butterflies flying and playing, which becomes a great spectacle.
