Zhengyangmen was built in the 17th year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty, and was originally named Lizhengmen. Because it is located directly in front of the Forbidden City, it is also known as the "Qianmen". Zhengyangmen is one of the "nine gates of the capital" in old Beijing, and it is affectionately called "Qianmenlouzi" by Beijingers. It is also a well-preserved old city gate in Beijing.

Zhengyangmen consists of three parts: city tower, archery tower and urn city. The Wengcheng has been demolished, and the city tower and watchtower are separated on both sides of Qianmen Street. Climbing up the tower, you can learn about the history and customs of Beijing in the exhibition halls on each floor. Zhengyangmen Archery Tower is the tallest archery tower in Beijing. Ordinary people were not allowed to walk through the cave downstairs, but now visitors can walk to Qianmen Street from here.
