The site of Zhongmuzhao Ancient Manor is located in Zhongmu Natural Village, Dayou Township, 23 kilometers northeast of Cengong County, Guizhou Province. The ancient manor is 285 meters wide, 120 meters deep, and has a total area of 34,120 square meters. The layout is decent and the craftsmanship is simple. It is a typical example Chinese style palace architecture.
The site is made of large square stones, with seven lanes, 14 walls, and 24 sets of buildings carved on the cornerstone floors. The base surface includes stamping, stone pile foundation, stone gate fence and so on. The wall is 810 meters long, with four gates in the east, west, north, south, among which the relatively complete south gate, wooden gate and door frame have been burned, but it is not difficult to imagine the grandeur of the year from the surviving walls.
Six open-air courtyards of different sizes have been excavated from the ancient site. One of the courtyards in front of the central hall is 13.1 meters long and 12.43 meters wide, paved with 120 square bluestone slabs. On the surface of each stone slab, patterns such as Huizi patterns, sun patterns, and fish scale patterns are inscribed. On the south side of the courtyard, a rectangular fire water tank built with bluestone slabs is set up.
