It was originally the site of the Wu Palace in the Yuan Dynasty of the Xixia Dynasty, but it was later destroyed by the war. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, this was the barracks of soldiers and horses belonging to the town, commonly known as "Xima Camp". In 1929, Feng Yuxiang's subordinate Men Zhizhong built a park here and officially named it "Zhongshan Park". There are 18 landscapes including Xizhao Pavilion, Hechi Shaking River, Tieniu Linchi, Ancient Wall and Autumn Grass, Moon Pavilion and Boat, Curved Bridge and Willow Smoke, Silver Lake Lying Waves, Ringing Bell and Asking the Moon, and Wumu Poetry Site. There are also many landscapes such as zoos, greenhouses, and juvenile science and technology stations. The Wenchang Pavilion, a famous historical site, is located on the north bank of Yinhu Lake. It was built in the Qing Dynasty and is majestic. It is the main symbol of the park. The bronze bell in the Bell Ringing Pavilion was obtained from the abandoned temple in Xixia during the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty. It was recast in 1465 AD. The bell is 7 feet high, 9 feet in circumference, and weighs more than 7,000 catties. The shape of the bell is unique. According to legend, this bronze bell rings at night without buckling. During the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, someone wanted to use it to cast a cannon, "it failed to be melted, and it was not moved by eight oxen."
