Climb to the main peak of Laoshan recovered in the Civil War. Photo by: Liu Guoxiong
On October 4, 2016, I climbed to the main peak of Laoshan in Yunnan. There was a pavilion on it. I could see the undulating mountains in front of me, the rivers and mountains of my motherland, and the mountains of Vietnam in the distance. Some people said it was called Daqingshan. In order to protect the border security of the motherland and maintain the dignity of the country, the Chinese border guards were ordered by the Central Military Commission to recover the Laoshan area on April 28, 1984. The battle here was fierce back then, and now it has become a patriotic education base in Yunnan Province.
Here I also met a veteran who participated in the battle back then. He returned to the battlefield for the first time in those years.
