Tibet, or take National Highway 214 from Yunnan to Tibet, you will pass through Zuogong. Zuogong is a transliteration of Tibetan, which means "on the back of a farming ox". Zuogong is the east gate of Tibet. Not only is it now the only place for Yunnan and Shu to enter Tibet, but it is also an important town for the Sichuan-Tibet and Yunnan-Tibet ancient tea-horse roads in history. Compared with scenic spots such as Laigu Glacier, Ranwu Lake, and Seventy-two Turns in Basu, the neighboring county, Zuogong's tourist attractions are much more low-key.
